No one will believe her when she said she could fly, or speak to birds. Everyone was too busy to watch ehr do it. She was labelled dangerous to go near, and when her parents were arrested she finally had it. She left to live in a cabin near the edge of the Gods' Forest. The birds came to her, and told her of a place she could go to, to change and live with them. Times were changing, they said, and were becoming dangerous for all creatures. Birds, being the personal favorites of one of the gods, gave them a warning, so they may flee to the Safe Place. Since these two birds were her friends, they told her of the god-human quarrels, and of the way to the Safe Place, and offered to show her the way. With nothing to lose, she quickly agreed, and hurriedly packed her sparse belongings.
